Overwhelm happens for all people eventually. Even life coaches!
I am in the throes of a seriously busy 6 weeks. Growth and newness and exciting prospects are ahead but directly in front of me is an enormous list of things to do! Each day it seems as I complete some items new ones show up.
Yesterday as the beauty of spring surrounded me, flowers blooming, birds chirping, it happened. The “OH NO!! HOW WILL I EVER GET IT ALL DONE!?!?!?” moment. I panicked…I told Blake I was panicking and then I went off on my own. I was freaking out. Even as I write this now, a day later, I feel a little anxious just thinking about the overwhelm I felt yesterday.
It happens to all of us. We make plans, things happen, more get’s added, opportunities present themselves and suddenly we are at capacity.
How do you deal when you get this overwhelm.
Take it out of your head; put it on paper and ORGANIZE IT!
First take a moment to enjoy all that surrounds you. I spent some time enjoying the spring day, even working in my garden a little. Step away from the frantic pace and slow down.
My head was clear; I felt inspired and went in to tackle the list.
Sit down and make a chronological list of all your projects. Take that master list and break it down again into “life-sized” tasks.
Now, my overwhelm is on paper and it seems easily completable. It went from “I don’t think I can do this” to “I absolutely can” in a matter of 15 minutes of planning.
Get your overwhelm out of your head and put it on paper. Break it down. Organize it so you know exactly when and what you need to complete.
Make sure you include time for you, time to recharge and time to relax!
