Positivity and happiness starts with one person.

It is a new year! I hope to see a lot of changes this year; the most important is a global shift from negativity to positivity.

Positivity and happiness starts with one person.

Be that one person. As Gandhi said, “Be the change you want to see in this world.”

Make a commitment in 2009 to be positive, to see yourself and your life from a strengths based perspective and move forward each day with determination and openness.

Start your day with positive thoughts; use your golden hour wisely. The first 60 minutes in the morning can set the tone for your whole day so take advantage of that. Avoid radio and TV, spend time reflecting, writing, listening to your favorite music or meditating. Look over your list for the day and think about how you want to spend your time. Have a nutritious breakfast that will give you the energy you need. When you get in your car turn on your favorite songs and sign along, listen to a book on audio.

At the end of your day write your gratitude’s in your journal.

Doing your gratitude journal as the last thing you do before you sleep instills positivity into your subconscious. Listing your gratitude’s daily will help you to remain positive and increase your levels of happiness. Write 3-5 things that made you grateful during your day. This journal can help in moments of difficulty because you can go back to it and remember all that is good and you can be thankful for in your life.

Approach each moment of your day with your personal strengths in mind, when a challenge or difficulty arises, change your perspective.

Stop yourself from reacting. Take a moment and think about how you can approach the challenge with a different paradigm. Use your strengths; always think about the positive you can bring to the challenge.

Learning your personal strengths, your signature strengths can change how you approach each moment of your life. Make it a point to start this year concentrating on what makes you the strongest. List your top five strengths and make them part of every day. If you have a problem listing your strengths ask your loved ones and they can help you.

If you still struggle email me and we can work together to list your top five.

Learn your strengths, post them everywhere, be able to recite them in the same way you can your name and birth date, Make them as much a part of who you are as your most important beliefs.

Lead with your strengths and work towards positive change!
